Roles and rights

From version 4, VAKA has completely flexible user roles. Using a rich selection of rights, roles are created offering various options for interaction with VAKA.

Of course, roles from previous VAKA generations – for example, “System Administrator” and “Installer” – are also available in VAKA 4.

Administrators, with rights to create roles, can create and edit these. Roles are associated with users, so these are given their intended roles when they interact with VAKA.

Create role

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Administrators.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the name of the role and click OK.
  4. Enter a clear description of the role.
  5. Select Default if the role is to be associated by pre-selection with new users as they are created. The role marked Default will also be associated, on import, with users who do not have a designated role. Remember that only one role can be marked Default.
  6. Under the description field, all rights are listed in groups. Expand the group to see the rights included.
  7. Select the rights in question*.
  8. Click Save to close.

*The Roles/ Administer roles and rights right is fundamental and gives users with this right unlimited options to interact with VAKA.

Associate role with user.

  1. Navigate to Persons.
  2. Add person in question.
  3. Select Administrator Role.
  4. Click Save to close.
