Instruction for upgrade
- Updating must be carried out by an installer with knowledge of the particular VAKA system.
- Updates must be made on site.
- Before updating to a new VAKA version, it is important to ensure compatibility with integrated third-party solutions * . Examples of such solutions are Renz mail boxes and Amido Alliera. To avoid operational disturbances, check with respective party that applicable versions are compatible.- Before updating, ensure that system security is set to the default level (Settings->System->Security).
- After updating, it can take up to 45 minutes before the system is fully operational.
VAKA can be updated automatically or manually.
The update will take approximately five minutes for each door controller, and should not be interrupted. If the update is interrupted for any reason, a window showing a link labelled Try to start VAKA again is displayed. Click the link to restart the update. Do not close the window.
Preparations for an update.
- Log in to VAKA as installer.
- Create a system backup as per Create or restore a backup.
- Export persons in the system (Persons > Export).
Automatic update
- Click the Updates are available dialogue or click the Settings tab > Updates > find updates automatically.
- Follow the instructions in VAKA.
Manual update
- Save the update file to a USB flash drive. (Firefox: Right click and select “Save link as..."). Or you can save the file straight to the computer you want to use for the update.
- Insert the USB stick to the computer you want to use for the update.
- In Axema VAKA Java/PC client, click Settings > Updates > Install update manually > Next .
- Follow the instructions in VAKA.
